Trendelenburg gait and myopathic gait describe different symptoms. Trendelenburg is characterised by paralysis of gluteus medius muscle, marked by body leaning toward the affected side during the stance, trying to gain the balance when lifting the pelvic ipsilaterally in an effort to lift the lower limb. Myopathic gait is more like exaggerated swinging of the body to both sides, similar to an penguin's walk. Merge Myopathic gait into Trendelenburg gait[edit]
