2008 Series[edit]

While it is true that Columbus can take the 2008 series by avoiding a defeat of more than 2 clear goals on 13 Sep, what would happen if Columbus do lose by exactly 2 goals (say 0-2, 1-3, etc...) by then? Who will win in this case? Henryong (talk) 05:36, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Base on the link, if Columbus does lose by exactly 2 goals but managed to score (e.g. 1-3, 2-4, etc), they should win the cup. If it's 0-2, perhaps Columbus should still win, given that they secured 1 more "away" point during the darw of the 2nd game. Henryong (talk) 05:36, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Playoffs series?[edit]

Now with Columbus and TFC meeting for the first time in the playoffs, would this count as another separate "mini series", as the Trillium Cup was already given to TFC this year? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 01:23, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's up to the group that sponsors the cup. You clearly seem to think that it is. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:22, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Vaselineeeeeeee and Walter Görlitz: I would include the playoff series in the lead or in a side note somewhere. The cup goes to the regular season series winner so I wouldn't count it as a separate "mini-series". The fact that we are playing Columbus in the playoffs should be mentioned somewhere, though. I didn't get the ping, but no worries (if you sign and save without pinging, then go back and add in a ping without resigning, the pings won't work). Yeah, probably doesn't belong in the table since it's not really part of the cup, but it definitely merits mention in the opening paragraphs. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:53, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Vaselineeeeeeee: Thanks for telling me about the ping thing, I didn't know that you had to re-sign the post. Anyways, do you know who organizes the Trillium Cup? It would be a good fact to have in the article. Is it MLS, the clubs, the supporters? Our "rivalry" with Columbus seems pretty manufactured so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the league who started it but I'm not sure. Jith12 (talk) 02:32, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure, maybe Walter knows. It says it's presented by Scotts on the logo, but not sure if it's them. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 02:46, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Vaselineeeeeeee: I asked the question over at the Voyageurs forums. One of the Voyageurs would probably know who organizes the cup. Jith12 (talk) 03:06, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure either. I too would suggesting checking with the supporters groups. Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:10, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jith12: Any response? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 18:11, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Vaselineeeeeeee: No response, I don't think anybody knows. I'll probably check directly with TFC next. Jith12 (talk) 18:56, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
