The wrong Lightworks[edit]

The Lightworks article linked here is on video editing, not 3D graphics rendering.

Overview[edit]

The overview section looks like written from a marketing guy at Caligari.

Features[edit]

No mention of the lack of a proper undo feature. Not a trivial omission, several people have returned their copies of TS and gone to other more expensive apps like C4D because of that. I followed in their footsteps after the tech support guy at Caligari told me it was impossible to make the engine undo NURBS operations. Right. It's so impossible that there's about two dozen freeware 3D apps that will do it 20 consecutive times. So why pay for TrueSpace?

Fair use rationale for Image:Ui3.jpg[edit]

Image:Ui3.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

tS 7.6 for free?[edit]

According to Caligari's website this morning, trueSpace 7.6 is free now.

Should this be noted? Signed, 67.190.203.151 (talk) 22:26, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See http://arstechnica.com/journals/microsoft.ars/2008/07/24/result-of-the-caligari-acquisition-truespace-7-6-goes-free for a story about it. And yes, it should be noted. --RS Ren (talk) 08:35, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Acquired by Microsoft[edit]

According to Caligari's website they where aquired by Microsoft in "early 2008" hence the ability to release trueSpace as free software.

According to Caligari's website, services will be down and support will be cut starting from 22, May 2009. This looks like the end of this decades-old software. See http://www.caligari.com/News/news_200905/LetterFromTheFounder.html Chromecat (talk) 06:06, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not dead yet - I've added links to the new forum pages that link in turn to the downloads ! OK, a forum perhaps doesn't meet our standards for reliability, but the posts must come from one of the guys that wrote trueSpace ! I've also replaced the original speedy-deleted article Truespace with a redirect here, and linked to the forum archive, instead of the dead forums1.caligari.com. ---19S.137.93.171 (talk) 11:43, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Expiration date is outdated[edit]

"While the dates are not absolutely fixed, some services and contacts may come to an end as early as Friday May 22 2009" -- shouldn't this be removed now? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Leosdad (talkcontribs) 17:55, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Version history?[edit]

How about a version history, starting from its early days as an Amiga program? Also, where to download the free releases, especially the version of 7.6 with both Model and Workspace. The current download at Caligari is Workspace only. Bizzybody (talk) 06:59, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on TrueSpace. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
