Is the statement that trump asked to "throw out some ballots" accurate?[edit]

The article mentions that Trump asked to "throw out some ballots", i assume Biden's, but I can't find anywhere in CNN's transcript where he, Trump, explicitly asks that ballots be thrown out? I read the entire transcript, and maybe I missed something, but i also searched for words like "get rid" and "throw" and it wasn't relevant to this accusation. I have checked the sources that reference this and they don't mention anything about Trump asking to "throw out" ballots (I'm assuming it's implied that it's the democratic ones). @C.Fred, I see you removed an edit that removed the "throw out some ballots" statement. I genuinely believe this might be a mistake and whoever wrote it confused it with a statement by Lindsey Graham, which is referenced in this article too.

@Sameboat hello, I see you removed my removal of a citation from the article, regarding "throwing out ballots". May I ask why? I by no means am disagreeing with the main conclusion of the article, which is that Trump's claims are false. And I was the one who added the "citation needed" in the first place, but I just do not see how that NPR article can be viewed as proof of the claims that Trump asked to throw the votes out. He did want to overturn the election results in those counties, yes, but that does not have the same meaning as throwing out the ballots (which is what Graham asked), the latter has different implications. I just don't think it is of benefit to anyone to have improperly backed facts in the article, wouldn't you agree? DevilsPepper (talk) 21:22, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Since you have quite a bit of credit on Wiki, would you mind making an edit to correct the article to either remove the statement that Trump personally asked to throw out ballots, or correct it to indicate it was Graham? Or perhaps, that his campaign asked to do so in Wisconsin (https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/elections/2020/11/27/trump-wants-throw-out-ballots-238-000-wisconsin-voters/6437897002/).

I and others tried to do so before but these changes just get reversed by other editors with more credit without explanation, and I personally don't want to start an edit war over a political article and get banned. DevilsPepper (talk) 21:35, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
