Terminology: "twin" and "sequential"[edit]

Aren't the two words mutually exclusive in this application? The article currently uses "sequential twin turbo," but many sources on the internet equate "twin" with "parallel" turbo setup. I agree that "twin turbo" sounds like two identical turbochargers working at the same time and equal pressures.

I totally agree, "twin-turbo" means parallel setup with two identical turbos, and sequential setup is sometimes referred to as "bi-turbo". 78.37.226.65 (talk) 23:11, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This needs to be sorted out. Currently [1] the article lead starts out Twin-turbo or biturbo refers to a turbocharged engine, in which two turbochargers compress the intake charge. More specifically called "parallel twin-turbos" following this edit.

However the scope of the article currently includes sequential and staged turbos, so the second sentence More specifically called "parallel twin-turbos" is confusing at best and possibly just plain wrong. Or if it's correct then the article probably needs either re-scoping or renaming. Andrewa (talk) 19:00, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Who's the brain damaged MORON who decided that a search for the word Biturbo should be linked to this page. Section on Sequential Turbos looks like a cut and paste from a patent application[edit]

Specifically the last part of the second paragraph which speaks about GM's 2016 patent application which reads like a press release for the manufacturer rather than a description of a technology.
