American Tildens[edit]

The Tilden families of America derive their lineage from John Tilden, a clothier of Benenden, born around 1400. It is his son, Nathaniel Tilden, who sailed with his family (his wife Lydia, seven children and seven servants) in March 1634 on the Hercules, from Sandwich, Kent to New England.

Could this be possible? Someone born around 1400 (John Tilden) is the father of someone (Nathaniel Tilden) who migrated to America in 1634?

Most likely, the phrase "It is his son" should be changed to "It was one of his descendents ..." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.142.38.17 (talk) 15:05, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. Have made the change Dick G (talk) 22:51, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Added architect Guy Tilden to descendants based on personal research and discussions with Guy's great grandson. ArthurScott 20:25, 6 December 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by ArthurSB73 (talkcontribs)
