It needs to be understood that the presence of a CE mark on a product may mean a Type Approval has been granted by a Notified Body (i.e., a government approved testing and approval agency) OR it may mean that the manufacturer has "self declared" conformity to some European Directive. Naming conventions and other common related conformance's[edit]

Should we link to Declaration of Conformity for those confusing the two terms? Various agencies (FCC for example) usually have a Declaration of Conformity and Mark of Conformity. CE Marking and FCC Declaration of Conformity --199.255.204.2 (talk) 16:28, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
