Deaths in Japan[edit]

There were no deaths reported from Typhoon 0908. Typhoon 0909, currently active in of the south cost of Japan, has claimed lives, caused many landslides and some people are still missing right now. This section should be ammended.Paulman (talk) 11:06, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I've removed the section and begun working on an article for Etau, as it is the deadliest storm to hit Japan in five years. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 13:04, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Interface in Impacts and Records section[edit]

It's better placing the comparison table in the middle but some words in the Taiwan section are overlapping the wettest tropical cyclones table. I don't know if leaving white spaces around the table would be aesthetical. In my opinion, I would leave the table as is in the Philippines section. But it would be better if everyone could discuss this issue here. --98.154.26.247 (talk) 06:20, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The wettest tropical cyclones table refers to Taiwain only, so it belongs in the Taiwan section. The first table covers world records, not just the Philippines, so it seems to me to be out of place alongside the Philippines text. I certainly found it confusing at first reading. I agree with the IP here - it just looks wierd having it of a proper section bearing in mind this article is going to be expanded over the next few days as more impact and relief happens.Jason Rees (talk) 07:30, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. I've put the table into metereological history, and renamed this section Impacts by country. Does that work better? Hallucegenia (talk) 08:48, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think the table would be better put back where it was orignally - as there still is a lot of impact to write up.Jason Rees (talk) 16:14, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rainfall records[edit]

I've tidied up the rainfall table as best I can, using referenced sources, but this is not complete. Can somebody with access to the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau reports please update the reported peak rainfall figures for 48, 72 & 96 hours? Or delete these lines from the table. Thanks. Impacts and Records[edit]

The table titled "Comparison of previous world rainfall records with Typhoon Morakot" is currently broken. I would fix it if I knew how/had the time right now. Thank you. 65.79.230.2 (talk) 20:51, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dates of impacts, anyone ? --Jerome Potts (talk) 06:46, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hotel collapse[edit]

The hotel which was blown into the river in Taiwan is pretty shocking. Should add a pic if we can find a PD/CC. F (talk) 11:50, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deaths in Taiwan[edit]

Article now states in one place that at least 18 were killed in Taiwan, and in a later citation that 62 were confirmed killed. This needs to be updated. Pamdhiga (talk) 10:56, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article Section: Impact[edit]

Is it time for this section to be updated and set in past tense? - The article as a whole may need a read-through by a copyeditor. 160.133.1.228 (talk) 20:40, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We will get a copyeditor involved when we need one, as for it being set in the past tense - yes it should be already.Jason Rees (talk) 20:44, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The Impact section still has people up in trees, among other updates needed.Ed8r (talk) 22:34, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
People up in trees will always be there either under preps or impact but yeah there is a lot to sort out and update.Jason Rees (talk) 22:39, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
