Oklahoma City routings[edit]

There were a lot of reroutings and bannered routes here. There are no city insets on the state map between 1939 and 1953 exclusive. Fortunately few changes were made then.

US 66

1931-1934: 39th-Western-23rd-Lincoln-Grand-Kelley
1935-1953: 39th-May-23rd-Lincoln-Grand-Kelley

1979-1985: 39th-Expressway (bypassing Classen Circle)

US 66 Alternate (supposedly "Beltline", but shown as unbannered US 66 on city insets and unlabeled on the main map until 1950)

1936-1947: 39th-Classen-Western-Britton
1948-1953: May-Britton

US 66 City Route (Business in and after 1958)

1954-1978: May-23rd-Lincoln

SH 66 (old route via Edmond; replaced by US 77 in 1967)

1963-1966: Broadway (began at Expressway)

SH 66A (original access to the Turner Turnpike)
