operation crossroad[edit]

@Cobatfor: I feel that there is inconsistence with this statement in the article Operation Crossroads
Dentuda,>>> with a skeleton crew <<< aboard, being submerged (thus avoiding the base surge) and outside the 1,000 yards (914 m) circle, escaped serious contamination and hull damage and was successfully decontaminated, repaired, and briefly returned to service.[95] but this feeling might result from my poor english (i.e. I understand skeleton crew as "very few people", but I cannot exclude that it means "goats and mices"). thanks 151.29.19.73 (talk) 07:19, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, DANFS writes: "Assigned to JTF 1 as a test vessel for Operation "Crossroads," Dentuda returned to Pearl Harbor 14 February 1946, and on 22 May sailed for Bikini Atoll. She underwent both atomic weapons tests with her crew safely away from their submarine, and returned to Pearl Harbor 5 September." I have no knowledge that there was any crew on the target ships during the tests. Animals were kept on the attack tranports (APA). Does this help? Cobatfor (talk) 14:39, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Cobatfor:Also I understood in this way. The problem is to correct Operation Crossroads. I do not dare to touch an english text. Thanks. 151.29.19.73 (talk) 16:24, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
