Ukrainian refugees and immigrants[edit]

@Xx236: This entire article is unreliable. The editor who wrote it did some sort of cut & paste job for the Russian and Ukrainian renditions of the name... in the wrong case. I don't know where most of the information comes from, but it started off as more WP:PEACOCK than substance. I'm going to tag it for better references and POV. Ultimately, I actually think it's a candidate for deletion. There's a Ukrainian wiki article on the history of Ukrainians in Siberia, but it's mostly statistics for deportations and the number of people of Ukrainian descent living there. As to how strong the diasporic community ties are... well, if they've moved from Donbass, that's WP:RECENTISM. I've Googled the subject in Russian and Ukrainian and there's nothing to hinge an encyclopaedic article on other than short, disparate POV and self-published sources.

There's some serious WP:SYNTH in the article. The Ukrainian exodus alone marries a 2014 article on a Putin promotion piece with a 2010 article by Paul A. Goble article on nationalism and the dissatisfaction with Moscow-based governance in the Green Triangle to create the illusion that everyone is happy, and everything is sunshine-bright with the new Donbass émigrés... and, no, the RT article is WP:BIASed and explicitly talks about 600,000 being 'transported' to various parts of the Far East (Siberia being only one of the destinations), with a figure of 114,000 purportedly being 'Ukrainians', although we are given no clue as to whether they consider themselves to be Ukrainian by ethnicity, or that they simply have Ukrainian passports (even if the report is to be believed). --Iryna Harpy (talk) 22:52, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
