Ultraviolet (film)[edit]

I was very interested to see that an american film of the same name has been made, involving vampires in a futuristic setting. Surely a coincidence. -- 82.39.115.248 22:20, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An editor added a reference to this film to the article, I removed it because the two productions, though sharing a name, are not related, as even the editor who added it acknowledged. They are called Ultraviolet because they are both modernisations of the vampire and vampires cannot walk in the sun, ergo they cannot take UV light. Driller thriller 09:18, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CIB[edit]

I was under the impression that CIB was simply the police unit that the vampire hunters pretended to work for in the first episode; in fact to my recollection Mike (Davenport's character) specifically states "They're not CIB... I've got friends that work there". But this article refers to the crew as CIB throughout; whereas I believe the organisation remains unnamed. 62.25.106.209 13:41, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, I placed it in the article with the hedge of "in the guise of" because it's the cover they use throughout the series. His bunny-boiler friend confirms that they're not really CIB. Actually, having rewatched the first episode I realise there's the suggestion that they work for the modern version of the Inquisition. I'll change the article to reflect this. The Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith is mentioned as a title, but it's also mentioned later in the series that it receives funding from the government, so I'm not sure if it is a Vatican organisation or just receives funding from there. Geoff B 17:53, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the only time the Congregation or the Inquisition are mentioned by Jack to Michael in the first episode Habeas Corpus, so the information is suspect.

I am not doubting the Catholic Church ties, just the ties to the Congregation or the Inquisition specificaly.

Action TV appears to have moved to a new url called Startrader.co.uk. They're apparently in the process of moving everything to this new site, but currently each decade only has two programme guides in each of them. This may take a while. In the meantime, yes, I'd remove the links as they obviously won't work anymore.
