Composed in 1864 for a choral society founded in 1872 ? ?[edit]

This appears to be a very thorny subject since Strasbourg was still a French city in 1864 and a German city again only after 1871, but it seems that the choral society Straßburger Männergesangverein was founded on March 22, 1872: [1]. There could have been a confusion with the Straßburger Männergesangsverein of Straßburg, Austria, but this one was founded in 1892 (when Bruckner was still alive, though.) Has Bruckner really composed for the male choral society of a French town that hadn't been German since the late 17th century? Was that choral society disbanded and then founded again, like the University of Strasbourg in 1872, incidentally the same year? --Edelseider (talk) 19:05, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for it. I will check it again tomorrow. Best regards, --Réginald alias Meneerke bloem (To reply) 21:10, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, obviously your tomorrow is longer than Dan O'Bannon's, but there is at least an article on the Sängerhaus now (not finished yet, but it will soon be: Palais des Fêtes.), Regards, --Edelseider (talk) 21:15, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I apologise for the delay. It was a Spanish maniana... I have checked it. The dates in the lead and in the infobox were correct. In the section "History", there was a confusion with the dates of the first setting of the song (WAB 89). I have corrected them. --Réginald alias Meneerke bloem (To reply) 22:52, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
