Deprecation of language tag characters[edit]

Anonymous user 217.184.142.51 added a not about the deprecation of the language code characters. The prop list still shows only a few characters deprecated. It doesn't look like those characters will be deprecated at least for 5.1. I doubt they would be deprecated ever since some parts of glyph rendering are not possible without determining language. If this refers to something else, please provide a reference so it can be verified. Indexheavy (talk) 21:58, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion - Explanation of Unicode definition/source[edit]

As I read the article, I wondered who defines Unicode, or certifies or sets its standards? A section or reference to the standards controlling body for it would be helpful. The lack of that is like talking about the Wireless-A+B+G+N standards and not mentioning who defines/sets them (IEEE). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.41.115.158 (talk) 14:02, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Accessibility - size of Unicode control code pictures[edit]

These are too small to be read, unless with the display extremely close, even on my iPad 12" in landscape mode (Safari ios 11). Could anyone fix this with a modest adjustment?CecilWard (talk) 12:51, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@CecilWard: I was hesitant to adjust the size of specific characters because the glyphs are a function of the specific font used. That said, I went ahead and enlarged the size for U+2400 - 2441. If someone objects I won't oppose an undo of my changes. DRMcCreedy (talk) 03:45, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Control characters are those with General Category value Cc[edit]

In the article should be remark that in Unicode Standard, only characters with the General Category value "Cc" are considered to be the "Control characters", it is 65 characters from ISO 6429, see http://www.unicode.org/glossary/#control_codes. Another characters referenced in the article are named "Format characters", etc. in the Unicode Standard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jiri 1984 (talkcontribs) 20:01, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is nothing about the Cf characters[edit]

Probably should be a list of these Spitzak (talk) 16:08, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Cf property is for formatting characters, not control characters. If they're added, it shouldn't be in this article. DRMcCreedy (talk) 21:35, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nor are LS and PS, or Language tags, or Interlinear annotation, or Bidirectional text control, or Variation selectors, or Control pictures, but all of those are in this article. Spitzak (talk) 21:57, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed they are. I hadn't really looked before my reply. Sorry. Yes, I support adding Cf characters to this article. DRMcCreedy (talk) 03:01, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
