Feedback from New Page Review process[edit]

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: Note, the pages that you copied this info from on the University of Alberta site require attribution. THis is currently a copyright violation because of that. It needs a Creative Commons tag added for the sources you borrowed from..

Note about authorship[edit]

I am the Wikipedian in Residence for the University of Alberta Libraries and am creating this page, and stub pages for branches, in order to meet precedence set by other Canadian University Library pages like University of British Columbia Library and University of Toronto Libraries. Any edits I make to pages related to the people, events or organizations reflected in the Library’s holdings or the University of Alberta itself will be neutral in tone, verifiable, and beneficial to the goals of Wikipedia. These edits may include text revisions or content development; the addition or expansion of references and inline citations; and edits or link additions to related resources that improve access to primary resources. I will review and modify my editing behaviour in response to any feedback indicating that I have contributed in a manner that contradicts Wikipedia’s conflict of interest guidelines. Please feel free to contact me via my talk page with any concerns. Ham1ltoner1n (talk) 21:45, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ham1ltoner1n, That's fine, unfortunately we can't accept the CC BY SA 4.0 licence that the university uses for it's website. I see that you fixed the first few sections (the ones that linked to the URLS that I linked in the template). THere are additional copyright violations in lower sections, and all of it needs to be rewritten in fresh words. see https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=University_of_Alberta_Library to verify. Note that the page will have to have the history perged after you are done to remove the older copyrighted revisions, so ping me and let me know when you are done. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here)(click me!) 22:55, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Insertcleverphrasehere: Lovely -- thank you so much for the kind help! Ham1ltoner1n (talk) 23:00, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Insertcleverphrasehere: Hello -- I have rewritten the lower sections and checked against the site you're using: https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=University+of+Alberta+Library&oldid=955225919&action=search&use_engine=1&use_links=1&turnitin=0. Now working on finding additional citations. Let me know if the rewrites are sufficient, thank you! Ham1ltoner1n (talk) 16:56, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Insertcleverphrasehere: Hi there -- I have added more citations from external sources. Wondering if you have time to review the page to potentially remove the template message re citations? Thank you! Ham1ltoner1n (talk) 21:27, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because I have just now created it as a stub and will be working on altering the language and adding additional sources. I'm continuing to work on it today and throughout the week. Please reassess once I've had a chance to make changes -- I just wanted to get something published so that others could contribute.
