I didn't do this assessment, but I have a few suggestions about moving it past start class:

  • History - the article is totally devoid of any historical information. At what point did the College start to be its own entity?
  • Details of the programs - if there is relevant information about any of the degree programs (history, notable output, etc) the links should either go to a page describing the program or the information should be pointed inline. Right now there's no info that, for instance, the English department has historically been top ranked for graduate studies
  • Notable individuals - Any notable faculty or graduates that should be highlighted?
  • Relevant rankings?
  • Programs or centers within the College?
  • Image
  • Expand the lead (WP:LEAD)

A brief scan of some of the articles on the other schools at UVA might give other ideas on ways the article could be expanded. Right now it's a good solid start that needs more material. Tjarrett (talk) 13:58, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

== Re-assessing as B ==

I've looked at the article and almost all my criticism above has been addressed. I think additional areas for expansion include:

  • Look at the programs list again and address my earlier criticism

The other thing that could use more work is more historical context -- we know for instance that at the foundation of UVA Jefferson's model had no required classes and issued no degrees. At some point that changed. Talking about that, and about the Echols Scholars in that context, might be an interesting opportunity for expansion.

I think everything else on the list has been addressed, and I think the article is now a solid B. That's the highest I feel comfortable assessing it, never having gone through the GA process myself. Tjarrett (talk) 18:43, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
