Compensation for athletic coaches and employees

I recently added a table of salaries for various athletic coaches to the athletics section.

This table was then removed by user "UWDAWGS" (perhaps a representative of the UW athletic program who thought that the compensation table made the program look bad?).

I am wondering what others think about including salary levels for coaches in this article. When you google "UW football coach" or "UW basketball coach", the first suggested search is "UW football coach salary", so this is clearly information that people are keen to find. Wouldn't it be helpful to have it presented in a convenient table? Or is it more appropriate to incorporate this information into the article text?

UWDAWGS says that the athletic coach compensation is "athletic trivia". But the article already has an exhaustive list of mascots going back 100 years. I would agree that mascot history is far more trivial than athletic coach compensation, which reflects the priorities of the university and has a tangible effect on funding available for other programs.

Thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.175.106.210 (talk) 20:40, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for bringing this to Talk. This article scope is the 150+ year history of an academic institution. Objections include WP:PROPORTION (the 2018 TE coach salary is not relevant, here), WP:RECENTISM (edit doesn't seem focused on "a long-term, historical view"), and some content is a better match for other articles (where it isn't currently included) such as Washington Huskies and 2018 Washington Huskies football team as was mentioned.[1] UW Dawgs (talk) 20:55, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
Oppose: You could argue that the table could be included on the Washington Huskies page but it's hardly relevant to the University's main page nor is it particularly encyclopedic. As for the list of mascots you mentioned, feel free to discuss that or bold remove them yourself. "Other stuff exists" is not a valid point. Malayy (talk) 21:08, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
