I don't understand how does a person get an infection like this?

The figure of 70% incidence in the population is quite on the high end. The author should verify this or cite appropiate references.

I was told that this is a rare thing to catch.

you get it from having oral or vaginal sex like you get everything else accept it lives in the throat too so you get it from coughing and people can carry them around and give it from a hand shake cuz they live literally outside the box wash your hands and cover mouths people.

Ureaplasma is an STD -- one of the most common. Safe sex with uninfected partners is your best bet. It does NOT live in your throat and you WON'T get it from people shaking your hands or coughing.Danierrr (talk) 03:07, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

unreliable sources

The article has been updated with more reliable references from medical journals. A lot of that other information is outdated and just plain false.

I tried to modify the article to more appropriately reflect the true conclusions of the citations. I agree with the user above that there is a lot of inferred causality from what has only been shown in studies to be association. Ahnika1 (talk) 00:49, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
