VK Sasikala?[edit]

Why is she referred to as V K Sasikala in the media recently? (& not as Sasikala Natarajan as she was known earlier) J mareeswaran (talk) 14:43, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove the term "who is the Chief Minister (elect) of Tamil Nadu" which is presented in the very first line of the article, since she has just been elected as the "Leader for Legislative Assembly of Tamilnadu" on 05.02.2017. Though the resignation of Mr.O.Panneer Selvam has been accepted by Governor (Incharge), the Governor asked Mr.O.Panneer Selvam to act as the Kabandu Chief Minister (Temporary CM) till next person takes over the charge. To become the Chief Minister, Sasikala has to submit the request with Governor and he has to formally asked her to take charge as CM. Only afterwards, she could be called as an Elected CM. Until then, she is not at all the Chief Minister. Because the Governor has the power to reject her plea, if he feels any uncertainty situation presents in the state. Change page title to Sasikala Natarajan[edit]

I'm of the opinion that the name of the article should be changed to Sasikala Natarajan as it's the more commonly used name by the media. Also there are more Google search results for Sasikala Natarajan than V. K. Sasikala. Please add your comments. - Nirinsanity (talk) 17:39, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Nirinsanity: @182.65.208.44:, The page was moved from Sasikala Natarajan to here based on prior discussion. If consensus can be achieved to move the page to Sasikala Natarajan again, this can be done. Thank you. RoCo(talk) 02:00, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[1]In September 2014, V.K. Sasikala, co accused in the disproportionate assets case along with J. Jayalalitha, Sudhakaran and Ilavarasi was sentenced to an imprisonment of 4 years and a fine of 10 crores by Special Court judge John Michael D’Cunha. She spent 21 days in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, Bengalooru before being granted interim bail by the Supreme Court of India. Later the case was heard in Karnataka High Court, which released them citing that the disproportion is less than 10%. This judgement was challenged and the appeal has been made to the Supreme Court as the calculation for the proportion of the income versus the assets to have been miscalculated and actually it comes to about 60%. The Supreme Court of India has announced that the verdict will be given the week V.K. Sasikala plans to swear in as Chief Minister of Tamilnadu. This is a pending case against V.K. Sasikala and needs to be included in her profile.

It is not enough to state that Sasikala's 'chief ministerial ambitions were dealt a sever blow', etc. Please mention more : In February 2017, Sasikala was chosen by her party to replace the sitting Chief Minister Panneerselvam. First Panneerselvam seemed to be on board with this decision, but he revolted and claimed that he was forced to resign under duress. Sasikala met the governor and presented her claim to take oath as Chief Minister. But the governor declined to rush into any action, since a decision on the corruption case against Sasikala was soon due. On 14 February 2017, Sasikala's ambitions were dealt a severe blow when the supreme court pronounced her guilty, and ordered her to complete the jail term of 4 more years which had been originally ordered by a lower court in 2014.

Of course this edit need not be rushed. After a few more events take place, a consolidated report can be added after 8-10 days. 50.184.119.160 (talk) 21:27, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The statement the Supreme Court of India held VK Sasikala guilty of amassing illicit wealth worth over 60 crores in the 1990s and convicted her for a 4 year jail term IS WRONG AND APPEARS TO STATE SHE HAD AN ILLICIT WEALTH WHICH IS TOTALLY INCOORECT. She was only accused of laundering Jayalalithaa's money of over 60 crores.

Sasikala and other co-accused who were accused of conspiracy with Jayalalithaa to launder her ill-gotten wealth were sentenced to four years of imprisonment in the Disproportionate assets case against Jayalalithaa and also fined 10 crore rupees each. The case against Jayalalithaa who was accused of being the mastermind was abated after she died but she was fined Rs 100 crores and the Supreme Court of India ordered the seizure of he rproperties .[1][2][3]

Further her name needs to be changed to Sasikala Natarajan more common name.182.65.208.44 (talk) 00:00, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Some entries do not qualify for factual reports.[edit]

Hi, sentences like the following are just biased and makes this report look like a hate article. 1. She is the most hated person in Tamilnadu. How do you qualify this statement? 2. Awards won - jail term in Bangalore. This too looks like trying to ridicule some one who does not like her. 3. How do you qualify the heading - Jayalalitha's bag bearer.

The post does not talk about the life details of the person. It simply is a collection of personal opinion and references from media biased against her. Nanyar980 (talk) 03:42, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
