Hey all you Macro-32/64 bit heads out there... I wouldn't have ventured to place this stub article in on VAX Macro if I didn't have such warm, nostalgic memories of it. But it's been 11 years since I last coded in Macro-32 (wow, has it been that long?) and some of what I've written may be a little "off." I think having been an ADVID developer who used Macro-32 almost exclusively (with several offerings in the VMS Freeware CD) gives me some entitlement to having taken a stab at this composition. (What is Wikipedia without an article on Macro-32, I wondered???!!!) But I'll admit writing IN Macro-32 was easier for me than writing ABOUT it.

Maybe someone else a bit more estute on the origins and actual processor support can embelish this more. Brian Schenkenberger, this is your oppurtunity to shine, VAXman...! PerlJunkie (C. Olive)

Rename (move) to macro32[edit]

Isn't/wasn't the official language name "Macro 32"? Jeh (talk) 01:22, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I would have guessed (I think the PDP-11 macro assembler was MACRO-11), but, apparently, not, at least as of February 1979 - VAX-11 MACRO Language Manual. Guy Harris (talk) 23:51, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
