A D57 might be currently living at the yard but is it descriptive of the museum now or should it be a diff pic for a diff loco used during its operational years ? --Dave Rave (talk) 21:11, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment comment[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Valley Heights Rail Museum/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

This is an Australian article therefore Australian English spelling should be used. Thus 'travelling' is correct, not 'traveling'. BlueMoses 13:18, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move proposal[edit]

I propose moving the article to Valley Heights Rail Museum per its relatively new official branding and WP:COMMONNAME. The current title is quite a mouthful. If this goes ahead, and/or there aren’t any watchers who respond within the next few days (I’ll just do a WP:BOLD move), I’ll have to ask for a technical requested move since the other link already exists. Also if anyone does respond, could you please make this a formal move proposal by tagging the article as such, and placing the appropriate move proposal templates for this discussion. Fork99 (talk) 08:05, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Valley Heights Rail Museum is the name of the location
  • "Valley Heights Locomotive Depot Heritage Museum" is a registered business name of the organisation which operates the site
  • "Valley Heights Steam Tramway" is a registered business name of the organisation licensed to operate trains on the site.
These are two separate legal entities under Australian law.
Since the museum's website embodies the above comments, it makes sense that the Wikipedia page follows the same naming convention. Blue Moses (talk) 03:23, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Blue Moses: Already done back in July per the section below this one. Fork99 (talk) 05:16, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Valley Heights Locomotive Depot Heritage MuseumValley Heights Rail MuseumWP:COMMONNAME, also see Talk:Valley Heights Locomotive Depot Heritage Museum#Move proposal. Fork99 (talk) 01:43, 4 July 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). Fork99 (talk) 02:07, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Contested by @UtherSRG at WP:RM#T, see permalink above. I’d like to point out that Google Maps and the museum’s official website call it by “Valley Heights Rail Museum”. And technically, “Valley Heights Locomotive Depot Heritage Museum” doesn’t actually include the steam tram operations in the same museum complex, as there are two separate organisations/entities at the same location.
