The Indianapolis 500 winners of 1970 and 1971 had similar paint schemes but other than that were very different cars. The rules for 1971 required a symmetrical chassis design so the weight bias and suspension offset in the 1970 car was gone in the 1971 car. I have seen the cars parked side-by-side and it is very obvious they are very different, other than the general shape of the nose and the paint.
