Recent changes[edit]

Please leave an edit summary. I was confused by some recent changes, which are not reflected in any other Los Angeles neighborhood page, such as the change of the map to a 3-layer map indicating the location in the entire country. Not seeing that in any other neighborhood page (but seeing it in districts on the National Register). And the inclusion of precipitation seems like it would be better for a larger area, such as South Los Angeles, not just for a specific neighborhood. Recent changes[edit]

A myriad of uncited and unexplained changes were recently made. The categories were reorganized without explanation. A photo was added with a caption "Vermont Vista shown to the right of the vertical freeway". There is not a freeway called "the vertical freeway". Issues such as redlining were introduced with a citation that never mentioned Los Angeles, let alone this area of the city. An "In popular culture" category was added without any citations. A history dating back to the Chumash Indians was added without citation, and would most likely refer to a much larger region such as South L.A. State Reps. were added without citation so that the area they served could be verified. The statement "Ascension Catholic Church was erected in 1938 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, and was one of the first churches in Vermont Vista" ... Is this church notable? Is it a Historic-Cultural landmark? A citation is needed. The info box added that the neighborhood was named after Vermont Avenue. Might be true, but a citation is needed.
