Why the Vega project is important or significant[edit]

The Vega project's significance derives from the visibility of their work within the bioinformatics community, the quality of this work, and the overall importance of the task of genome annotation in furthering our understanding of genome sequences from the Human Genome Project.

I agree that this page could use some fleshing out, hence the bioinformatics-stub category template I included.

The person who will need to do the fleshing out is you. Include 3rd party independent reliable published sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases). The project itself has to be shown to be important--not just possibly in the future, but now. I'd advise you to add this very quickly, before it gets nominated for regular deletion.DGG (talk) 02:20, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
