What coverage warrants this character's split from another list? Most of the content appears more in-scope with other wikis. None of the reception appears to come from any in-depth study of the character, so the character should be covered proportionate to its coverage in the secondary sources. czar 08:37, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

I had my own worries about this, but I felt it would be undue weight to put all this in the Star Wars: The Old Republic article (discussion of this character specifically is a pretty minor part of how the game was received), and there existed no Characters of Star Wars: The Old Republic -- nor was I prepared to undertake the heavy effort that would have been involved in creating one. However, I think the content is still worth having, and articles such as these ([1][2][3]) specifically focus on the character as the subject of criticism and, combined with the other coverage and the outcry of The Daily Mail, constitute enough to be worthy of an article -- at least considering the lack of alternatives. – The Millionth One (talk) (contribs) 13:38, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
Based on those links, I'd say the coverage is comparable to the whole Quiet ordeal in the latest Metal Gear Solid. If those three links the character's main claim to fame, we can cover them briefly in the parent article's reception (similar to MGSV#Portrayal_of_Quiet). If there is similar coverage from other characters within the vg series, I'd build out the character section first and then spin-out to a full article as appropriate. (But I don't know whether that'd even be necessary.) czar 14:03, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, bit of a slow response. My main concern was SWTOR has a lot more ground to cover in, say, comparison to MGSV. Expansions, several plotlines, MMO elements, all of which with enough general coverage to would make covering the reception of a single character in proper detail undue (since it's a pretty minor part of how the whole game was received). The "claim to fame" is not based solely on those three links, but also, the Daily Mail and the backlash against it in turn ([4][5][6]). There's also this Religion Dispatches post that uses Vette as a focus point for surveying as it looks at the effect companions have on a player.
That said, I'm not all that opposed to a merge, provided worthwhile content is kept. There's not much on the character as a whole, and what there is fairly centred on the initial Kotaku post. Only the reception section is of much value, and there's not much to be gained with the fanpoll at the end. However, I view the coverage overall as noteworthy, and I imagine a merge would overly cut down on a lot of it. Even in a cut-down state, the reception would be almost equal in size to SWTOR's current reception section, so to avoid presenting a very distorted view of things the reception of Vette would have to be neutered. (It would probably help if SWTOR got some general clean-up and reception expansion, of course.) I think merging can be detrimental to Wikipedia in cases like this, where it harms the site's coverage rather than helps it. – The Millionth One (talk) (contribs) 17:25, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
I'd see it more as proportional coverage and concision than losing content. Sounds like it's really on par with my Quiet (MGSV) example, based on the sources. I think there was more coverage for Quiet, actually. czar 21:36, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
Fair enough, really. If you want to make the merge, go for it, or if you prefer I can handle it in a few days. – The Millionth One (talk) (contribs) 21:44, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
