Is this a joke? The Kinks are one of the most quintessentially english bands. They hugely identify with their cultural identity. They even had an entire album called 'Village Green Preservation Society'

Kinks songs such as 'Living on a Thin Line', 'Lavender Lane' and '20th Century Man' for example, lament the loss of English cultural identity.

You could easily make the argument that no band has done more to romanticize and memorialize the culture of which they are a part.

The line "a group not generally known for being anywhere near that patriotic." is so inaccurate, it's laughable. As wonderful as wikipedia is, one of its flaws is you have people writing articles who clearly know nothing about the topic they're writing about.

Hopefully, someone will amend this article to make it more accurate, or at least not wildly inaccurate - 98.150.109.23 (talk) 02:31, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think the comment that the band was not "that" patriotic refers to the fact they were not as patriotic as the narrator, who states they are willing to die for their country. I guess it could be phrased better. Doctorhawkes (talk) 05:13, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
