Confusion over boundaries[edit]

As is often the case with Los Angeles neighborhoods, there seems to be some confusion over just what this article covers. It is supposed to refer to a neighborhood within Los Angeles, not simply to the historic, single-family district. Therefore, I am restoring some material that seems to have been removed by a concerned person. Sincerely, BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 18:53, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hadacheck v. Sebastian 1915[edit]

Much of the information that was previously in this section was not present in the Hadacheck v. Sebastian page. I incorporated the information into that article, leaving only a brief summary of the case on the Victoria Park page. Sincerely, Phatblackmama (talk) 13:24, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good editing. BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 22:24, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Transportation[edit]

Regarding the Transportation section, all of it as I have just restored it is based upon an old Los Angeles Times article, which talked about the proposed transportation linkage of that era, before the "P" line was installed. There was no streetcar transportation out that far. Sincerely, your friend, BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 22:22, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am still working on it.Phatblackmama (talk) 22:51, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Took out reference to Pico "P" line (although I would still like to know who owned it, as it was not owned by Pacific Electric). Left in link to Pacific Electric for 16th street line. Will confirm date when it started running. Also, I see the ad from 1907 advertises the promised subway, but can find no information to confirm your statement "Los Angeles Pacific Railway already had a franchise in Pico Street." Can you please indicate where you got that info as it is in neither citation. And please, if you have questions, ask before deleting. Phatblackmama (talk) 23:13, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pointing out that "P" line hadn't opened at the time of the subdivision. Reworded section. First sentence indicates line are promised as future service. Then list when each of the lines finally opened, what their names were, and which of the competing rail companies owned them. Let me know if any of my information is incorrect and I will be happy to fix. Phatblackmama (talk) 23:57, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The yellow streetcars had both numerical (5 for Eagle Rock-Hawthorne), and alphabetical (P for Pico and V for Vermont). The yellow cars were owned and operated by the Los Angeles Railway and then the Los Angeles Transit Lines. Earlier when they were first built? Sorry, my memory does not go that far back. I will do some more research, though. BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 20:49, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
