First Edit[edit]

First shot at adding to the subject content. More to come. Stringbean 22:20, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Major revision[edit]

Cleaned up and upgraded the content. Removed double statements and brand names. Added references.Jrest (talk) 14:40, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming[edit]

Renamed this topic from Video Analytics to Video Content Analysis, because Video Analytics is more a brand name and Video Content Analysis is used in the industry and research alike. For example, look at the results -and the type of results- you get from a Google search for them.Jrest (talk) 22:33, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of Universities[edit]

It seems odd to me to list a bunch of universities where significant research is being done. If there were one or two dominating the field then fair enough, but this is something where research is going on in lots of places and I could easily add another dozen to the list. It's OK I guess if there is some metric (e.g. number of papers published)? --MijinLaw (talk) 10:56, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger[edit]

Artificial intelligence for video surveillance significantly overlaps with the present article. fgnievinski (talk) 23:55, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Fgnievinski: These topics are clearly related, but they're not quite the same. Video content analysis is not used only in video surveillance systems: it can also be used in video retrieval, and likely has other applications in computer vision as well. Jarble (talk) 23:18, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, with no merge, given the uncontested objection and no support. Klbrain (talk) 17:27, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
