Virtual Circuit IdentifierVirtual Channel Identifier – use the source please

This Cisco Document states that VCI in the context of ATM is "Virtual Channel Identifier". There might be a mix-up with the term "Virtual Circuit Identifier" which might exist in other contexts outside of ATM. As the article continues immediately with an ATM description I think the article should be moved to "Virtual Channel Identifier" and renamed appropriately. However I could not get a grip on the referenced book to prove the current article wrong..--Methossant (talk) 02:28, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Virtual Channel Identifiers (VCIs)" in the official standards.[1][2] Of course citing the standards might be a good idea too. W Nowicki (talk) 21:35, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:CAPS ("Wikipedia avoids unnecessary capitalization") and WP:TITLE, this is a generic, common term, not a propriety or commercial term, so the article title should be downcased. In addition, WP:MOS says that a compound item should not be upper-cased just because it is abbreviated with caps. Lowercase will match the formatting of related article titles.
