nothing explained about the technology.[edit]

The example of the technology is very good but it is required to explain the technology first. So virtual private clouds are nothing but the clouds that are private clouds that also uses the services of the public clouds. i m not sure about this but there is a small difference between the private clouds and hybrid clouds. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.241.94.250 (talk) 12:13, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's not a very helpful explanation. It needs more context. What does the word 'private' mean in this case? What do they do that other cloud computing does not do? Why is it 'virtual'? -Pgan002 (talk) 00:37, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- If you're familiar with the cloud in general, you've probably figured out out that pretty much everything is 'virtual'. Instances of machines, hard drive, GPU, Amazon's Lambda functions, etc. E.g. when you boot up a linux machine in Amazon's EC2 environment, its CPU, hard drive, ram, don't run on a physical personal computer somewhere. It is virtualized (maybe hundreds of machines run on a single machine with a single CPU and RAM. HEre, virtualized means the same things. When you create a router, a VPC instance, etc, it doesnt map to a single physical router, LAN, switch, somewhere. Its abstracted by a mix of hardware and software and is provisioned and destroyed on demand. Camille Lambert (talk) 01:30, 23 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Complex explanation, possibly incorrect[edit]

Cloud resources are addressable in a VPC, but I don't think a VPC in itself is "an on-demand configurable pool of shared computing resource".

Per my understanding, a VPC is in essence a "virtual network". Some VPC types must be in 1 region, some may span regions. And they usually offer ways to connect with other networks e.g. through network peering or VPN. 31.187.172.219 (talk) 13:49, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Opening sentence has odd phrasing[edit]

In the opening sentence, there is a phrase "a certain level of isolation", but there seems to be no value to the phrase "a certain level of". It is poor phrasing, adds no value to the sentence and should be removed. Instead it should read: "providing isolation between..."
