I remember using the Australian version of Virus Buster in the early 1990's (I think it was from Leprechaun at that stage). The business was run out of Queensland, but support moved to Wollongong (I think the Uni of Wollongong) in the early 2000's, which is around the time the product moved to Zondex. One of the key reasons for the change of support was the health of the business owner in Queensland. All of this is from memory, and I don't have any specific evidence. However, I installed Vb at work and also used it at home (all paid and legal, I was that impressed at the time). Vb introduced heuristic scanning - the first versions apended checksums to files as part of the mechanisms. Vb was also the first to introduce a native widows (Windows 3.0) interface - the other companies were merely using a DOS window - and *I think* they were doing some windows-specific checks. 59.167.237.41 (talk) 22:10, 5 June 2013 (UTC) Alan D. Anyway, later the company seemingly had failed to catch up with the rivals. Now the technology will live in the Agnitum line of products. --213.181.193.240 (talk) 18:33, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
