The Earl of Carlingford is the senior title and should not be merged into an article about a minor title.Aatomic1 06:42, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heirs[edit]

The heir to the Viscountcy of Taaffe has the right to petition for restoration of that title. Is there such an heir? Who is it? Or has the title effectively become extinct in any event? Proteus (Talk) 13:25, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On the death without issue in 1967 of the 7th and last Count Taaffe (of the Holy Roman Empire), son of the 6th Count Taaffe (and 12th Viscount Taaffe, whose peerage became forfeit because he bore arms against England), both titles became extinct. - Nunh-huh 08:41, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Taffy" Poem?[edit]

Could the poem "Taffy Was a Welshman" be a tongue-in-cheek reference to the invasion of Ireland by Cambro-Normans? It alludes to a Welshman named Taffy (Taaffe?) who steals from his house. Title of page[edit]
