Name[edit]

this seems to be one of those words that people use in every day language, but has not shown up in the dictionary. visioneer is a word that is used to describe creating/planning the future with cunning foresight. Like an inventor. 08:20, 6 October 2007‎ User:68.6.51.86

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Visioneer. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Acquisitions and name changes[edit]

I have tried to clarify the (confusing) history of acquisitions and name changes of this company, both here and in the related Nuance Communications article (per information in both articles and the company's current homepage "About" and "Visioneer Corporate Information"). Not entirely convinced that the amount of duplicate information needs 2 separate articles, but kept them as is for now. GermanJoe (talk) 13:07, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Need to clarify this Visioneer page versus Nuance Communications[edit]

There is some confusion between this Visioneer article and the Nuance Communications article. The page about Nuance indicates that it originated as Visioneer, then acquired ScanSoft, which then merged with Nuance Communication and took the Nuance name.

However, there IS currently an active company called "Visioneer" that sells scanning hardware. The company "About" page says:

We are a privately held, world-class developer of intelligent imaging solutions.

Judging from what I can read through both articles, my suspicion is that the current Visioneer is the hardware part of the original company that was sold off in 1999 to Primax and then later bought by private investors (according to this article). But this article needs some reliable sources to clarify all of that. - Dyork (talk) 01:19, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
