Requested move 13 April 2017[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Not moved. I have also boldly retargeted the redirect Volkswagen Passat B7 to match the target of Volkswagen Passat (B7). — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:56, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Volkswagen Passat (B6)Volkswagen Passat (B6/B7) – Proposed renaming allows for better display the content of the article because the article is about two different models. 37.146.225.52 (talk) 22:01, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). EdJohnston (talk) 22:56, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Confusing abbreviation. There are car models Volkswagen Passat (B6) and Volkswagen Passat (B7); there is no one model called Volkswagen Passat (B6/B7). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:01, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • There are no car named Volkswagen Passat (B6) and Volkswagen Passat (B7). Car name is Volkswagen Passat, (B6) and (B7) are car body indexes. This page says about two different car bodies of the same car (despite that B7 is deep facelift of B6, not new car), but the title of the page shows only one of them, it's absolutely wrong. So, the page name «Volkswagen Passat (B6/B7)» provides a better vision of the content of the page, while the very best decision is separate page for B7. 2.95.251.219 (talk) 17:28, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
