I know what you mean. I think someone from the company edits both this page and Gore-Tex. One the whole it has resulted in an increase in good information, but feel free to add more NPOV to balance the article. -- Solipsist 09:13, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hated to do it because nothing sounds more interesting than a company that doesn't have managers or CEOs and where salaries are determined collectively, but I have put up the POV banner. From what I can tell about the only part of this article that isn't taken directly from the company website is the information I added about the rule of 150 from Malcolm Gladwell's book. Well on further checking, it is this editor who appears to be associated with the company, whilst most of the disputed material came from this edit by User:216.140.123.24. As such this is probably just a copyvio and should be removed. -- Solipsist 08:13, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We have added Vieve Gore to the info box because she founded the company with her husband, Bill. There is no Wikipedia page for Vieve Gore. Basic biographical information is as follows: Genevieve Gore (nee Walton), born 1913. Married Bill Gore, 1935. Founded W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. with her husband, 1958. NPOV/Conflict of Interest Issues[edit]

In regards to the most recent edits to this article: GoreArchives is the user name for a small group of archivists involved in collecting and preserving the history of W. L. Gore and Associates. This team collects images, documents, books, brochures and product samples related to Gore’s past and present.

Recent edits to the W. L. Gore article on Wikipedia by GoreArchives were intended to add supplemental historical information on the company and provide additional perspective on the evolution of its products. Additional information on Gore’s culture was also included as it is frequently requested by other companies, academia and business publications.

Reference 13[edit]

I'm puzzled by Reference 13. It just says "Robert W. Gore, 2008, page 129." I'd like to follow the reference for more information, but it's not at all clear to me what's being referenced. Is it a book? If so, what's the title? I thought perhaps it was an autobiography, but I couldn't find any book by that title.

In response to the comment above, we have updated and elaborated several citations for clarity. Footnote 13 is a second citation after the original full citation in footnote 3 for The Early Days of W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. by Robert Gore, which was privately published by the author and is in the collection of the W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. Archives, Newark, Delaware.
