Boldface[edit]

MOS:BOLD says:

Avoid using boldface (or other font gimmicks) in the expansions of acronyms, as in United Nations (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Abbreviations § Acronyms for guidelines on acronym style). The same applies to over-explaining portmanteau terms; avoid things like Texarkana is named for Texas and Arkansas.
