Yo! I will (ideally) be able to review this within one week.  LunaEatsTuna (💬)— 05:14, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good! Pass.  LunaEatsTuna (💬)— 21:06, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Prose[edit]

(Lead is good)

  • Wikilink New Orleans.
  • Can I be a pedant and recommend "38 for comparative hearing—Oak Television of New Orleans,"? I have not seen from used in this context before.
    • Reworded differently.
  • "additional capital, the firm added 100 additional partners" – recommend rephrasing to avoid a repetition of additional.
  • Just curious, what is "(Hal)" referring to?
    • Hal is a bit of an old-fashioned nickname for Harold. He was usually known as Hal Protter.
  • Wikilink WGNO.
  • I would wikilink reruns, since it is not really a term commonly used anymore.
  • "After the newspaper printed the "piranhas" quote" – how about "In response to the "piranhas" quote"?
    • Leaving this here because the newspaper's handling was up for question in the articles at the time
      • Ah, I see!
  • "goods and services, not cash" – how about "goods and services instead of cash"? Ignore this suggestion if this is standard AM ENG however.
  • The sentence starting "While WNOL-TV had a strong 1984 …" is honestly a bit awkward.
  • "power to box WNOL-TV" – sorry, again not familiar with American English, is 'box' really formal?
  • "and WNOL-TV became the local affiliate of the new Fox …" reads awkwardly because of "and because" in the previous sentence.
  • "even before Black Monday" – it is wikilinked but how about "even before the Black Monday stock market crash" to save readers some effort?
  • How about "joint venture with Quincy Jones Entertainment Company".
    • That's the name of the JV.
      • My bad!
  • Wikilink prime time.
  • Rephrase "the door was open" for formality.
  • Wikilink WVUE to WVUE-DT.
  • "seeking the ABC affiliation" – wikilink ABC.
  • "In a September 18 article" – is there a reason you are noting this?
    • Yes, because of the mention of early September meetings. It was a full year before the affiliation was already announced.
  • "Canal Street offices to 23,000 square feet (2,100 m2)" – this is worded weirdly.
  • You could wikilink duopolies.
  • "and with a small alligator found stuck in a fence" - I do not think this is really noteworthy.
    • I use it here to indicate how bad the damage was. Added "fish", as in the source, because fish stuck in a fence might indicate some of the flooding.
      • Looks good.
  • Wikilink the CW.

Refs[edit]

Passes spotcheck on refs 7, 15, 22, 27, 37, 46 and 65.

  • For ref 68, I cannot seem to find where it mentions June 2007.
    • Fixed this by adding a new supporting reference. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 19:10, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
