Origin of call sign[edit]

I deleted the following from the article:

"PGU" stands for (I believe) "Permanent Ground Unit" which was a wartime barracks building.

My recollection (from where, I cannot say, though I was an ex-officio member of the Illini Publishing Company board of directors in the 1970s) is that the initials stood for "Parade Ground Unit". I was informed it was indeed "Parade Ground Unit", by a station manager.
