Comments[edit]

This page does not contain more information about the radio station than many other similar articles on Wikipedia. 72.229.159.142 (talk) 17:43, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just removed offensive references towards two WUSB staffers, that were posted by the anonymous user from IP address 207.156.174.42 Neoellinas 07:33, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More offensive references removed (9/11/06), posted by the same IP address as above (207.156.174.42) and by the user "Infinitor." Neoellinas 07:33, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The page did not have any references, so I started to add them in (3/13/2009). Nosferajoo —Preceding undated comment added 18:33, 13 March 2009 (UTC).[reply]

WUSB is owned by the SUNY Board of Trustees, not Stony Brook University. This is the case with all SUNY radio stations: they are not owned by the individual institution but by the Board of Trustees, which is the licensee.

It has asked for citations about notable staff members. It's unclear where to get these, though references to them can be found on older pages from archive.org wayback machine, in they are not current staff memebers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rrwo (talkcontribs) 16:08, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

When citing sources on Wikipedia, it's important to use reliable sources to ensure that the information provided is accurate and verifiable. While archive.org's Wayback Machine can be a useful tool for finding historical versions of webpages, it's important to use caution when using archived sources.
The Wikipedia community considers archived sources to be less reliable than current sources because they may not reflect the most up-to-date information or may have been altered since they were archived. However, archived sources can still be used in certain situations, such as when the information being cited is not likely to have changed significantly over time.
In the case of citing notable staff members, it's important to use current and reliable sources wherever possible. This can include news articles, academic publications, or other reputable sources that have been published recently. If current sources are not available, archived sources may be used as a last resort. - BlueboyLINY (talk) 18:30, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You removed a mention of Norm Prusslin, even though he is the author of one if the cited articles about WUSB. This is absurd. Norm was one of the founders of WUSB https://www.35000watts.com/my-first-shift-wusb-fall-1969/ He is still a chairman in IBS https://www.ibsradio.org/about-us and has received the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame’s Long Island Sound Award for lifetime contributions to the music community on Long Island https://www.limusichalloffame.org/board-of-directors/norm-prusslin/ - So how can you claim that he's not notable enough?!?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rrwo (talkcontribs) 16:59, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia aims to provide comprehensive and informative articles on various topics. While it may contain information on specific individuals, organizations, products, and other entities, it is not intended to serve as a directory.
It is the responsibility of the editor making a claim or statement to provide reliable sources to back it up. If reliable sources cannot be found to support a claim, then it should not be included in the article. If a claim is challenged or disputed by another editor, the burden of providing reliable sources to support the claim falls on the editor who originally added it.
To comply with Wikipedia's notability policy, lists should exclusively feature individuals who have their own dedicated Wikipedia articles.
The burden of proof applies to all types of content in Wikipedia, including text, images, audio, and video. It is an essential principle in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of information on the site. - BlueboyLINY (talk) 23:30, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Referennces to Lister Hewan-Lowe were also removed, even though he is mentioned in the Clappers page on Wikipedia, and on the Clapper's Website it mentions his show on WUSB https://lister.ultrakohl.com/AboutClappers.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rrwo (talkcontribs) 17:14, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Wusblogosmall.jpg[edit]

Image:Wusblogosmall.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
