Notes on last edit[edit]

Just some style notes to clear up the correction on the last edit. Only the first word of a section should be capitalized excusing proper nouns, hence "Title history" is correct over "Title History" (see WP:MOS). When the title is vacated, it should be logged in the history with just a "Vacated", no bold or italicized, see List of WWE Champions for a good example. Unless it is in the WWE, you should not use Triple Threat of Fatal Four Way as they are trademarks of the WWE; in any other promotion it's simply a Three Way or Four Way Match. That's all. This seems POV[edit]

What is or isn't a world title is a highly contentious issue (just go to any message board and start a discussion on WWE's ECW title and see) so claiming the WWA title as "legitimate" seems to be a bit too POV for a wiki article. Road Dogg's WWA World Heavyweight Championship reign[edit]

For years, this victory apparently occurred on October 19, 2001, and was supported by a Solie.org cite: [1]. 124.176.237.176 is intent on removing Road Dogg's WWA reign, claiming that it never happened. After a series of unsupported reverts, he finally produced this OWOW cite: [2]. Since there's no mention of the title being defended on the card, he uses that as his justification for Road Dogg never having won the title.

After some investigation, it seems that the date on the Solie cite may be incorrect. OWOW does indeed report Road Dogg as having won the WWA title, but on October 23: [3]. The Internet Wrestling Database, Profightdb.com, also supports this: [4]. As for now, I've placed both dates in the Brian Gerard James and WWA World Heavyweight Championship articles, with cites supporting both dates. Hopefully we can establish consensus. Given that OWOW and the IWDB are reporting James as a WWA Champion, I've no doubt that it happened: establishing the correct date is the only issue. I think the Solie cite has possibly confused the date of the first WWA event (19), with the date of the first WWA Championship reign (23). 90.201.91.232 (talk) 08:14, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Primary topic?[edit]

A previous thread on this talk page acknowledges this as a short-lived title for a short-lived promotion. There are many articles containing "WWA (World) Heavyweight Championship" in their title, yet there is no hatnote atop this article and no disambiguation page that I could find. Is this article truly the primary topic? It seems it's being treated as such solely on account of when the promotion existed and/or who was involved with it.
