The article claims that the license was revoked and the call sign deleted by the FCC on July 29, 2011, but the sourced document [source 2] shows that "DWWEC" (operating from the same frequency and location) was the license that was suspended that day. Even more confusing, using the FCC's "Station search" to obtain a call sign history reports that July 29, 2011 was the "BEGIN" date for DWWEC. It also shows a new license for WWEC beginning November 28, 2012 - yesterday. (It is either a really weird coincidence, or extremely creepy, that I just happened to find this article today.)

I also recovered the letter sent to Elizabethtown College announcing that the station's license was being revoked and the call sign deleted. It is dated July 29, 2011 and begins "Our records indicate that FM Station WWEC, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, has been silent since June 23, 2008." It goes on to reference regulations stating that a station that fails to transmit for a 12-month period shall have its license revoked. Finally, the letter revokes the license retroactive to June 24, 2009. Note that this letter is being sent TWO YEARS after the fact.

At very least, they were on the air in the Fall of 2010 as evidenced by this schedule: http://blogs.etown.edu/radio/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/wwec-working-schedule1.png. This would contradict the letter's assertion that the station had been silent since June 2008. I'm still looking into what actually happened, but I think it is possible that the station was off the air during the 2008-2009 school year, resuming operations at some later time. I have some avenues for contacting the people listed on the Fall 2010 schedule, so here's hoping they can provide some sources to clear this up. MolotovH (talk) 22:44, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
