Update on WMMT4[edit]

I've found some news for Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 4. It's not much, though, but at least it's official.

ArcadeHeroes.com update on WMMT4

There has been, recently, an official trailer and website for Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 4.

Initial D[edit]

  • Guys, this isn't an article about Initial D. Stop referring to it. SlickDizzy 03:16, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Posting[edit]

I've posted whatever images I could grab from Image from: http://www.namco.co.jp/aa/am/vg/wanganmaxi2/world/ . If someone can sort out the other images on the website and place them with the respective racers and shops, it would be much appreciated. --Cantthinkofausername 09:43, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm debating removing many of the images. It's a large bandwidth strain and interferes with the page's formatting quite a bit. It would probably be wise just to leave them for the major characters, and remove the ones for minor characters. SlickDizzy 02:48, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I just added the images to whomever is on the page already (and I also debated if I should add the images to some of the tuning shops, (i.e. I didn't add Kitami's image to his shop profile and left it in his main entry in the character profile), and disregarded anyone else not on the page. As is, I think maybe some of the images should be excised from the tuning shops area if the image is in the racing profile area to save bandwidth. To me, I think it looks better with the profiles of the racers.
For starters, I think the last three tuning shops (Kitami Cycle, Works-R, and Speedshop MACH) should not have images, since other parts of the article has them already. For ACE, removal of Tomoya's image and keep Goto's image. And maybe transfer of Tominaga's image to his racer profile than his tuning shop profile. Lemme know what you think. Oh, and thats for the clarification of the characters, much appreciated.--Cantthinkofausername 04:48, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Tominaga doesn't race in the manga; as far as I'm concerned, his only profile should be his tuning shop one. I've been trying to keep the whole article edited to conform with the manga, and not the game, as there's a seperate article for that...but every time I make any progress, it all gets undone. I still support the idea of only showing images for the pillar characters (Akio, Tatsuya, Reina, Kitami). The rest are minor. SlickDizzy 06:44, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think you gotta face facts: people know Wangan Midnight more thru the Arcade game than the Manga (heaven forbid some American publisher brings the property in (TOKYOPOP, or VIZ? Hello, bring it to the USA already!)), unlike Initial D, where the manga and anime gained noteriety thru tuner culture and then the Arcade Game took off with the infamous DC2 'God Car' in Ver. 2. If you keep to the allusion that if you conform the article to the manga, people will still come in and edit it with info from the game. You have to make a suitable compromise, or wrestle with editing the article constantly.--Cantthinkofausername 09:46, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
: I' agree with what Cantthinkofausername said. Most people associate Wangan Midnight with the arcade games only. The manga is relatively unknown as there isn't a lot of scanlators (only one actually). Sora3 11:58, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Size[edit]

The stuff about the video games is much too long imo. This article is about the book, or whatever. mmm no I only skimmed the first few paras —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.66.9.162 (talkcontribs) .

Video Versions[edit]

According the posting in Wikipedia, there have been 3 movies based on Wangan Midnight? Does anybody know the titles to these movies, because I never had the chance to see them. Repeated searches also came up empty. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.6.113.38 (talk) 03:21, 6 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

New section or page for character bio?[edit]

I'm not sure whether or not I can contribute but since I have some of the manga books in Chinese, I can help out with fleshing out the characters in the story line. So far, I already have a good understanding of Akio and as well as Reina. Other characters might take a little longer as the Chinese version is stuck at Book 30 when there is 36 books in Japanese.

I might do up something like this for the characters.

Name Akio Asakura (朝倉アキオ)
Sex Male
Car Nissan 300ZX (Book 1, Chapter 1)

Devil Z (Kitami tuned 240Z) (After Chapter 1)

Japanese Seiyuu Shun Oguri

And then the biography after that. Sora3 00:53, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2009 film?[edit]

"The official website of Kodansha Comics has announced on Saturday" It's the first time I see something so worth of deletion like this "live action" section. No sources, copy and paste info and fanboy attitude. Improve or delete. 84.120.125.145 (talk) 17:20, 5 July 2009 (UTC)J.Cervantes[reply]

What happened to article?[edit]

It used to have more information. It's as if someone cleaned / erased much of the information. Why? 80.221.98.230 (talk) 16:38, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see it's back now 80.221.98.230 (talk) 04:04, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to the article for Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune? If it's removed, then what's the point in having the games hyperlinked to the same article that it's already on? I'm removing the hyperlinks. Eh8789 (talk) 12:09, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I find the removal of the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune article completely unjustified. Unless it was because there is a Wikia for this article, then I find it very unlikely, due to the fact that the WMMT Wikia is badly written and detailed. I hope the article would be restored back to its original place. JMBZ-12 (talk) 21:32, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wangan Midnight Wiki - Updates.[edit]

1. WMMT1 & WMMT2's release dates are a bit off
Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune and Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 2 is released on 6 July 2004, and 25 April 2005, respectively. Do NOT revert to "Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune and Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 2 is released on July 2003, and April 2004, respectively."!

2. Article has fallen into disrepair
Yes, the Wiki article has fallen into disrepair before I repaired it. For God's sake, why do they always keep modifying things in this Wiki article until "I don't even understand this article anymore"?

3. New info from a verifiable source
Notice that certain text are different? I got it from a verifiable source (not going to tell you where I got it for fear of backlash).

4. His supposed "day/night job"
a. Had Midnight Club gone bankrupt?
b. Did Akio Asakura resigned like how Keiji Aizawa did?
c. Was it something else that caused Midnight Club to be gutted out after several volumes of the manga/several episodes of the anime, even though he still works there?

5. Thank goodness someone has quickly fixed this article.
OK, I have reviewed the article, and someone by the name of Xexerss had the time to fix this badly-written article.

6. Saved archive (dated 13 April 2020) of existing section "Video Games" of this wiki "Wangan Midnight" on my site.
The actual article before all these unneccessary information was removed by Xexerss.
This is to prevent clutter.
I don't have the time to update my saved archive, due to time constraints. Just don't ask me for a link, because it's a "work-in-progress".

Haha. Thanks for the repair! By (Wikipedia Vienna).
