Date Format[edit]

BOZ CS1 expects a normal date. It does not seem to need the day of the month for the date field. There seems to be no provision for something like "April 1977 - May 1977 - June 1977". I am looking here: Template:Cite_journal. I was alerted to this by errors reported on this page: https://bambots.brucemyers.com/cwb/bycat/Board_and_table_games.html#CS1%20errors:%20dates . I was trying to find out what it needs when there is a multi-month date (which is not uncommon for magazines), but I was unable to find the documentation. While we could shorten it to just April 1977, it seems wrong to report that intentionally incorrectly. BOZ (talk) 12:30, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"orig-date" works but looks ugly.
