Article Merge[edit]

This article should be merged with Warner Bros. Animation Mrsanitazier 23:51 24 July 2007

I unmerged those articles for a reason - they're essentially about two separate studios and read better as separate articles, as do Hanna-Barbera and Cartoon Network Studios. --FuriousFreddy 01:42, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

These are two distinct studios. The Warner Bros. Animation article is about the studio which functions today. The Warner Bros. Cartoons article is about the studios affiliated with or owned by Warner Bros. which made Warner cartoons from 1930 to 1969. Steelbeard1 (talk) 01:06, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I realize they read better as two separate articles, but I feel like we can ignore that Warner Bros. views them as the same and lists the founding date of Warner Bros. Animation as 1930. ^[1]Chrisisreed (talk) 15:31, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Warner Bros. Animation Studio material[edit]

Except for a brief summary in this article, anything concerning the Warner Bros. in-house animation studio after the classic Warner Bros. Cartoon studio closed permanently in 1969 should go to the Warner Bros. Animation article. Any material outside the aforementioned brief summary already in place will be deleted. This is a reminder that this article is strictly about the studios affilated with or owned by Warner Bros. which made Warner Bros. Cartoons from 1930 to 1969. Other than the summary already in this article, all material about the Warner Bros. Animation studio which operates today should go to that article. Infobox[edit]

This article is about the studio(s) which made Warner cartoons from 1930 to 1969. Because of its convoluted history, a simple infobox is not practical for this article. There were several key people in the studios' histories including Harman/Ising, Schlesinger, Selzer, Burton, DePatie and I haven't mentioned the key directors yet. Norman Spencer[edit]

I removed the link to the wrong Norman Spencer. Norman Spencer was the Schlesinger studio's music director in the mid-1930s who was also in charge of cartoon voices. He was infamous for turning down audition requests by Mel Blanc until Spencer died. Then sound effects film editor Treg Brown took charge of cartoon voices and was easily impressed by Blanc's vocal talent as were animation supervisors Freleng, Avery, Tashlin and Clampett. Reference to when this was founded and the defunct date[edit]

The reference to when this was founded doesn't give the date. This shall be changed back to 1933 like the rest of this page.
