Untitled[edit]

Why was the link to avalon removed?

sources? aside, from the movie actually showing a performance of the orchestra and of Elzbieta Towarnicka, there are these out of many sources: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0267287/ http://www.neonrebel.com/music/avalonost.html http://www.discogs.com/release/195394

relevance? There are far less known animes also listed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.55.167.149 (talkcontribs)

Sources to use[edit]

Hello. Here are some good reliable sources we can use to help expand the article:

  • Bychawska, Maria; Schiller, Henryk, eds. (2001). 100 lat Filharmonii w Warszawie. 1901 - 2001 (in Polish). Filharmonia Narodowa. OCLC 749349305. {{cite book}}: Unknown parameter |trans_title= ignored (|trans-title= suggested) (help)
  • Biegański, Krzysztof (1960). Filharmonia Narodowa (in Polish). Warsaw: Polish Music Publishing House. OCLC 12869395. {{cite book}}: Unknown parameter |trans_title= ignored (|trans-title= suggested) (help)
  • Biegański, Krzysztof (1960). National Philharmonic. Marianna Abrahamowicz, translator. Warsaw: Polish Music Publishing House. OCLC 450828.
  • Gołębiowski, Marian (2010). Warszawska Filharmonia Narodowa na pięciu kontynentach (in Polish). Filharmonia Narodowa. OCLC 774147718. {{cite book}}: Unknown parameter |trans_title= ignored (|trans-title= suggested) (help)

Hope these help. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 00:17, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

GA?[edit]

I am considering a possible push for GA status. Here's what we need to do:

  • Create a history section with its background up through the 2010s.
  • Create a possible Recordings and films section.
  • Add other sources from books and research papers.

All are welcome to assist in this process, and if anyone has other suggestions, please let me know here. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 23:13, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Julius Wertheim[edit]

The articles on Victor Young mentions a Julius Wertheim being director of the Warsaw Philharmonic and this is referenced to an article from the Jewish Daily Chronicle from 1920 but all the articles on the Internet seem to be traceable to this Wikipedia article. If I cannot find any more info about Wertheim, I weill delete this from the article but not before I have given others a chance to respond. Mike Hayes (talk) 00:50, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I figured out that Julius Werheim is Juliusz Wertheim. So let's take it from there. Mike Hayes (talk) 01:06, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"In 1915-1916 [Juliusz Wertheim] was assistant conductor of the Warsaw Philharmonic." Okay problem solved. Mike Hayes (talk) 01:09, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
