Route description[edit]

The route description needs to be properly updated. What I have written below is not a suitable replacement but it is a start. The maps are available at the USGS store Map Locator & Downloader. No direct links AFAIK. – Allen4names (IPv6 contributions) 06:37, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Route description[edit]

From it's new southern terminus at Interstate 82^[a] state route 397 runs east concurrent with Benton County Road 397^[a]^[b] to Finley Road.^[c] It then runs north to Riek Road, east curving north to Piert Road to it's old southern terminus.^[b] From there it runs north-northwest along Chemical Road in Kennewick to the Cable Bridge, then along 10th Avenue in Pasco, east along Ainsworth Street, and north along Oregon Avenue^[b] until it reaches the interchange near the eastern terminus of Interstate 182.^[d]

I suggest using a mapframe map, which shows the city names and sometimes route numbers.
- Converted.
The BNSF railroad map does not show the physical descriptions of the area. I assume you're missing a ref here (Google maps?)
- You should try using a state-specific railroad map, which is much more detailed for the region.
  - Added a state map.
Shouldn't Columbia Drive be mentioned somewhere, as it was mentioned in the RJL?
- Added a sentence on it.
When does it cross from Benton County to Franklin County?
- Added mention that Pasco is in Franklin County (and thus the river is the boundary).
"signed as a county route" Maintained by which county until it was transferred?
- I think this can be inferred from mentioning Benton County twice before in the same paragraph. Sounder Bruce 06:17, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
