Jawahar Wattal[edit]

My edit related to Hindu Watals in Kashmir was removed mentioning that Jawahar Wattal is not well known enough The fact is Jawahar Wattal is among the most well known Punjabi Pop music composers of the day I have also added a reference 18:57, 12 January 2022 (UTC)Vivek Kaul — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vivekaul (talkcontribs)

@Vivekaul: no, your edit was promotional claiming he was the most famous. And to be notable by our criteria they need their own article meeting our criteria at WP:NOTABILITY and associated pages. I’ve tine down the promotion a bit and removed the person with no article. It’s reasonable that an encyclopaedia has criteria to stop, for instance, fans mentioning their favourite person. That is your personal opinion & a wrong one. I would request you not to enforce your opinion, particularly when you do not seem to have much idea about Punjabi music directors (& possibly about India). Jawahar Wattal has got one of the highest awards by the Government of India for his Music (Padmashri). Before forcing your opinion on wiki, a little bit of Googling about Jawahar Wattal would you helped you immensely. To call my edit as a "fans mentioning their favourite persons" is outright childish & condescending Please keep Wikipedia neutral Vivekaul (talk) 14:56, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
