Packhorse bridge[edit]

This section is misleading. There is a packhorse bridge in Watendlath but it isn't Ashness Bridge - that's the bridge about 3km to the north on the road leading to Watendlath. Ashness Bridge is certainly one of the most photographed bridges in Britain so the quotation from Hinchliffe's book might refer to that, rather than to the Watendlath packhorse bridge, however Ashness bridge is a road bridge, not a packhorse bridge (although it may have originally been a packhorse bridge that was widened for vehicles).
