Canister?[edit]

I am not sure "canister" is the right or most common name. These are certainly "water containers" and many of your examples are large blow molded plastic bottles. Pkgx (talk) 15:23, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm unsure what would be the most appropriate name in English. I've now included the names water container, water canister and water can. I prefer water canister or water can, since the term "water container" sounds very general and can be confused with other types of water containers. Strictly speaking, water container can include about anything that can hold water. There were no existing articles covering this type of water containers, that is common "medium" sized water containers which can be carried by hand (for example 5-25 L). The article has its place as there are own articles on bottles (for example 0.5-2 L) and very large bulk containers (for example 200-1000 L), and this falls between. But as you indicate, the terminology is a little unclear. Sauer202 (talk) 15:40, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
