Question about if Netherlands will win "2016 Women's European Water Polo Championship"[edit]

@Kante4: and @WallyParadise:, please, help me decide one question.

If tomorrow (22 January 2016) Netherlands will win 2016 Women's European Water Polo Championship then what countries from Europe will be compete in 2016 Women's Water Polo Olympic Games Qualification Tournament? GAV80 (talk) 20:56, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@GAV80: NED wouldn't need to compete in it, but there are at least five slots allotted for Europe, so it would be the 2nd-6th place teams from the European Championships (HUN, ITA, ESP, GRE, RUS). There will almost certainly end up being more than five slots for Europe too, since the other regions probably won't use all of theirs.

@WallyParadise: Thank you, for your answer. Now I am understanding. I thought that NED will play anyway as host. I mistaked. GAV80 (talk) 21:09, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@GAV80: Hmmm, I guess they could, but since it's explicitly an Olympic qualification tournament, I wouldn't expect them to. I'll dig around and see if I can find precedent. WallyParadise (talk) 21:12, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Italian media is reporting that the Dutch have announced that they want to host the tournament anyway, but that the tournament may be moved if they win the European Championship. They are also reporting that South Africa (African champion) has given up his spot, so four teams will actually qualify for Rio. It's not clear if this also applies for the Men's tournament. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.215.45.186 (talk) 14:29, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Squads[edit]

Wouldn't it be better to have the squads on a separate page? Mmoo (talk) 21:10, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is ok. Not sure the squads should be displayed anyway but ok... Kante4 (talk) 05:09, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
